The Immigrant Yarn Project is a magnificent gesture, unifying the work of thousands of immigrant knitters and their descendants (most of us). IYP is mounting the nation’s largest yarn-based work of public art in honor of our rich immigrant history. The installation has been displayed at Fort Point National Historic Site, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, and throughout the USA, the Immigrant Yarn Project is a testament to the creative spirit of our shared immigrant heritage. The project has gained the support of US senators like Kamala Harris, Madeleine Albright, Dianne Feinstein and organizations such as the Museum of Craft and Design.
